We are members of Edinburgh Global Shapers, one of the many city-based hubs worldwide delivering projects to address community needs. We are a part of the Global Shapers, the World Economic Forum initiative to mobilize young people to take action against local, regional and global challenges.
Akshay Anilal Sreeja
Akshay is a Poetry graduate and a lifelong student of Literature. He finds it important to delineate the complex relationship between humans and climate/nature in his work. Working on design with the Tree-mendous project, he advocates for sustainable living and spreading the word on Climate Reality.
Hammed Alabi
Hammed is passionate about education access in underserved communities and for young people with forced migration backgrounds. Growing up in a slum “Makoko-Nigeria” education became his lifeline, and he has dedicated 13 years to working in the space. He works on the Treemendous project to consolidate the Edinburgh city effort in achieving net zero and including young people in the process. Hammed also believes in the need for local people to be included in climate sustainability efforts.
Sadikchya Singh
The Treemendous Project Lead is Sadikchya, Former Curator of the Edinburgh hub and a sustainability communication professional, is currently working in the sustainability team at UKFT, the largest fashion and textile association in the UK.
Beatriz Morganti Brandão
Beatriz is a project manager working with socioenvironmental agendas. She holds a post-graduate diploma in sustainability and a masters degree in human rights. She was the impact officer of the Global Shapers Edinburgh hub from 22-23.
Hilary Hao
Hilary works on climate change-induced challenges and founded Tree Square to empower communities to plant city-trees. She has 8 years of work experience in food systems, mobility, and innovation and technology in Southeast Asia.
Smrithi Pradeep
Smrithi is an Intermediality graduate from the University of Edinburgh. Her areas of interest that parallel the Treemendous project includes Climate change studies, the involvement of youth in sustainability, and Environmental conservation.
Ekaterina Nemshevich
Kate is a recent graduate of MSc International Development and has background in workings with various NGOs and data analytics. Kate has been a member of Global Shapers since December 2022, involved in Treemendous Edinburgh project.
Peter MacPhail
Peter’s role in Global Shapers Edinburgh revolves around sorting financial matters. Outside his role with the Shapers, Peter is co-founder of Aspen Partnerships, a company whose mission is to spread technologies that reduce CO2 equivalent emissions.
